Kevin E. Dael
I have taught music, mathematics, and computer courses in Ohio and Alaska for 19 years. I have a Masters Degree in Education specializing in Instructional Technology from Ohio University and a Bachelor of Music degree from Kent State University with a major in Music Education and a minor in Mathematics.
I am very active with the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics (OCTM). I have attended every OCTM Conference since 1998 and have presented many conference sessions since 2001. In 2005 I was awarded the Southeast Ohio Secondary Teacher of the Year Award by OCTM. I currently serve as the Southeast Ohio District Director and I am a member of the Executive Committee of OCTM.
During the summer I volunteer at Camp Otterbein in Logan, Ohio. I lead groups in rock climbing, rappelling, and a high ropes challenge course. I also facilitate high and low challenge course groups for Ohio University Outdoor Pursuits.
I am the Adult Handbell Choir Director at the First United Methodist Church of Athens. I enjoy performing handbell solos and writing handbell arrangements. My first original handbell composition was performed by the First United Methodist Church of Massillon in September 2010 in celebration of their bicentennial.
Other interests include: playing chess, collecting baseball cards, playing clarinet and saxophone, and singing in my church choir.
